Telmo brings his background in art and architecture to management of the Washington, D.C./Baltimore office, as well as experience as a business owner. He and the staff concentrate on press fleet management and government-sponsored events.
ROGER CLARKE, EVP EASTERN REGION
In addition to servicing the power elite of New York/New Jersey, Roger is developing technical systems that more accurately track vehicle location and condition across the entire ESI fleet. He began his career 25 years ago as a vehicle detailer and designer, switched to veterinary business development, and ultimately returned to his automotive roots.
JAMES GINGELL, EVP MIDWEST REGION
James puts the international in ESI. Born and raised just outside of London, England, James got involved in automotive events while still at university and brought his European event experience to the US in 1999 and to ESI in 2003.
Managing multiple clients and events across three continents for Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, and Audi as a program manager, James earned his reputation for world-class event execution with a real knack for pushing the envelope with drive route development. His quest to find the perfect road borders on the obsessive and has been a boon to our clients looking to impress journalists who have seen it all.
Outside the office, you will invariably find James… outside. Whether studiously avoiding pavement in his Rubicon, paddling down one of Michigan’s scenic rivers in his canoe, slogging through a Tough Mudder, or simply walking the dog with his wife and two girls, James’ firmly held belief is that it is called the “great” outdoors for a reason.

DAN SMITH, EVP WEST COAST REGION
A life-long Californian, Dan Smith recently brought his 15 years of automotive public relations experience to ESI’s Long Beach operation, where he oversees press and VIP fleets as well as events. Dan has previously worked with clients including Ford Motor Company, Tesla Motors, Saleen, Edelbrock and Yokohama Tire Corporation. He also moonlights as a public address announcer for sporting events in Southern California.
MATT LANE, EVP SOUTH CENTRAL REGION
Matt joined ESI in 2002 to open the office near Dallas. In fact, automotive has been Matt’s singular focus since launching his career in 1988. Regarded throughout the southwest as an industry leader, his entrepreneurial approach has grown the regional ESI book of business from one account to 19.
MIKE JACKSON, CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
A native of northeastern Ohio, Mike relocated to southern California and earned a master’s degree in communications from the University of Southern California. He has led successful marketing and advertising programs for global brands Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Coors Brewing and General Motors. From the cola wars in the ‘80s, to the expansion of light beers in the ‘90s, and the SUV revolution in the 2000s, Mike firmly believes that product sampling and influencer marketing are essential components of every successful marketing plan.
SEAN HENSLEY, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Sean launched himself into a staff accountant position at Isuzu Technical Center Motors in Plymouth, MI. ESI was fortunate to secure Sean’s fiduciary talents in 2004. He served as VP Finance from 2010 to 2016, when he was promoted to CFO.
Complementing Sean’s management skills is a deep understanding of our clients’ occasionally “unique” needs: the outrageous and unconventional creativity our clients employ to create spectacular media launches. Thanks to Sean’s creativity, ESI is always prepared to provide complex financial analysis, audit, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
Sean is passionate about his responsibilities ranging from supervising daily accounting, payroll, and purchasing operations to big-picture analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and invoicing. Being bi-lingual in both the event production and third party purchasing languages, Sean is an essential link to project success.
When not crunching numbers, Sean and his wife are busy with two kids (6 and 9) at the local links, rinks, and diamonds. When the athletes finally wind down, Mr. and Mrs. Hensley enjoy boating, international travel, and exploring the many wonderful restaurants of southeast Michigan.
